It is important that the Permit Holder and Event Organiser read the information very carefully – some of the key points are below:
1. A Scout or Explorer Scout can run a camping or residential event when issued with a Nights Away Event Passport.
2. A Leader who is a Permit Holder (at the appropriate level – e.g., Campsite) can issue the Event Passport for one event only.
3. Event Passports cannot be issued to anyone aged 18 or over and also, they may not be issued for joint Explorer Scout/Scout Network events.
4. The Permit Holder is responsible for submitting Form NAN and the associated risk assessment together with a copy of the “Event Passport” (see below) to the RDSA Nights Away Team at rs.nightsaway@gmail.com .
5. The Permit Holder is responsible for providing support for both preparation and the event itself, but is not required to be present at the event.
6. The Permit holder must be satisfied that the person to whom the passport is being issued has the required abilities.
7. Of importance, parents must be made aware that the event is being run without adults being present.
